Electric Scooter Tire Size Guide: Tire Conversions for Segway, Gotrax, Hiboy, NIU, Apollo, Kaabo & More
Electric scooter tire sizing can get confusing fast.
A tire might be labeled 10x2.50-6.5, 60/70-6.5, 10x2.5, or simply 10-inch, even when the tires are very similar in overall size. To make things more interesting, two tires advertised as “10-inch scooter tires” may use completely different rim sizes and may not be interchangeable.

This guide explains how electric scooter tire sizes work, provides common tire-size conversions, and gives you a starting point for finding the correct replacement tire.
The most important rule is simple: match the tire to the scooter model, rim diameter, tire construction and sidewall markings whenever possible.

What Does 10x2.50-6.5 Mean on an Electric Scooter Tire?
A tire marked:
10x2.50-6.5
generally means:

So a 10x2.50-6.5 tire is roughly 10 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide and designed for a 6.5-inch rim.
The measurements are nominal, so a tire labeled “10-inch” may actually measure slightly under or over 10 inches once mounted and inflated.
Electric scooter tire markings can look different even when the overall tire diameter is similar.
What Does 60/70-6.5 Mean?
Metric-style scooter tire sizing works a little differently.
For a tire marked 60/70-6.5:
60 is the nominal width in millimeters.
70 means the sidewall height is approximately 70% of the tire width.
6.5 is the rim diameter in inches.
You can estimate the overall diameter using:
Overall diameter ≈ rim diameter + two sidewalls
For a 60/70-6.5 tire:
6.5 inches × 25.4 = 165 mm rim
60 mm × 70% = 42 mm sidewall
165 + 42 + 42 = approximately 249 mm, or 9.8 inches overall.
That is why a 60/70-6.5 tire is commonly sold as a 10-inch scooter tire.
A 70/65-6.5 works out to roughly 256 mm, or about 10.1 inches, while a 90/65-6.5 works out to roughly 282 mm, or about 11.1 inches.
This is one reason searching only for “10-inch scooter tire” can get you into trouble.

Here is the big gotcha: 80/65-6 and 70/65-6.5 may have similar outside diameters, but one fits a 6-inch rim and the other fits a 6.5-inch rim. They are not automatically interchangeable.
That tiny number after the dash is often the most important number on the tire.
Common Gotrax Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
Gotrax uses several different wheel sizes across its scooter lineup.

Because “10-inch” alone does not specify the rim diameter, width or bead profile, we recommend checking the markings molded into the original tire before ordering a replacement.
Segway Ninebot Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
The Segway Ninebot MAX family is one of the most common scooters we service and source tires for.
The Ninebot MAX G30 family uses a 10-inch tubeless tire. Replacement tires for the G30, G30P, G30E and G30LP are commonly sold in the 60/70-6.5 or 10-inch size family. Radmoto stocks a 60/70-6.5 tubeless replacement specifically for these models. (Radmotousa)

Hiboy Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
Hiboy has an especially wide range of tire designs.
The Hiboy S2 uses 8.5-inch honeycomb solid tires, while the current S2 Pro uses 10-inch honeycomb tires. The S2 MAX uses 10-inch pneumatic tires, and the larger Hiboy MAX Pro uses 11-inch pneumatic self-healing tires. (Hiboy)

That last column matters. A 10-inch solid tire and a 10-inch pneumatic tire are not automatically interchangeable, even if the outside diameter sounds identical.
NIU Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
NIU is another brand where knowing the exact model matters.
The KQi3 Sport, KQi3 Pro and KQi3 Max use 9.5x2.5-inch tubeless pneumatic tires. NIU lists 9.5x2.5 as the front and rear tire size for the KQi3 family. (NIU)
The newer KQi 300P and KQi 300X use larger 10.5x2.5-inch tires. NIU lists the dimensions as 267 x 64 mm, or 10.5 x 2.5 inches. (NIU® Official)

TurboAnt Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
The TurboAnt X7 Max uses 10-inch tires and has been offered with both pneumatic and honeycomb tire configurations. (TurboAnt)
When ordering for a TurboAnt, check whether your scooter currently has pneumatic or solid/honeycomb tires before ordering. The wheel diameter alone does not tell you enough.
Apollo Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
Apollo scooters sit somewhere between premium commuting and performance scooters, and tire sizes depend heavily on the model.
The Apollo Go uses 9-inch tubeless self-healing tires, while the Apollo City uses 10-inch self-healing tubeless tires. (Apollo Scooters)
Older Apollo Phantom models also use 10-inch tires, but Phantom generations have changed over time, so we strongly recommend confirming the year or generation before buying a replacement. Apollo's replacement-parts catalog specifically lists 10-inch tires for several older Apollo models, including the Phantom V1. (Apollo Scooters)

Kaabo Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
Kaabo, sometimes misspelled “Kaboo” or “Kabboo” in searches, makes a broad range of performance scooters, so there is no single Kaabo tire size.
The Mantis 10 Lite uses 10-inch tubed pneumatic tires with split rims. Kaabo also sells a 10x3.0 tire compatible with models including the Mantis 10 Lite, Mantis X Plus and Mantis King GT. (Kaabo USA Electric Scooter)
Larger Kaabo scooters such as the Warrior 11 family use 11-inch tubeless tires. (Kaabo USA Electric Scooter)
This is also where width starts becoming much more important. Moving from a 2.5-inch commuter tire to a 3-inch performance tire can substantially change clearance around the fender, swingarm, brake and motor.
INMOTION Electric Scooter Tire Sizes
INMOTION ranges from commuter scooters to some seriously quick machines.
The INMOTION Climber uses 10-inch pneumatic tires with inner tubes. INMOTION designed the Climber with split rims specifically to make tire and tube replacement easier. (INMOTION)
At the opposite end of the spectrum, the INMOTION RS, RS Lite and RS Jet use large 11x3.5-inch tubeless tires. (INMOTION)
90/65-6.5 is a common size family for larger 11-inch performance scooter tires.

Is 10x2.50-6.5 the Same as 60/70-6.5?
They are in a very similar size family, but you should not assume they are identical just because both are commonly described as 10-inch scooter tires.
A 10x2.50-6.5 marking describes a nominal 10-inch outside diameter, approximately 2.5-inch width and 6.5-inch rim.
A 60/70-6.5 mathematically works out to approximately 9.8 inches in outside diameter with a 6.5-inch rim.
For many scooters these dimensions are close enough that replacement tires are marketed under both naming conventions. But tread width, bead shape, actual inflated diameter and manufacturer tolerances can still differ.
The safest approach is to confirm your scooter model and generation, then compare the original sidewall markings and actual rim size.
What Should I Check Before Buying an Electric Scooter Tire?
Before ordering a replacement scooter tire, check these six things:

Scooter make, model and year or generation. A Segway MAX G30 and MAX G2 may both have “10-inch tires,” but that does not guarantee the tires interchange.

Original tire sidewall markings. Look for numbers such as 60/70-6.5, 10x2.50-6.5, 90/65-6.5 or 10x3.0.

Rim diameter. A 6-inch and 6.5-inch rim are not interchangeable.

Tire width. A wider tire may contact the fork, fender, motor or swingarm.

Tubed, tubeless or solid construction. Match the wheel design unless you have confirmed a conversion will work.

Valve stem and wheel design. Especially with small scooter wheels, valve angle and clearance can matter almost as much as the tire itself.
Tubed vs. Tubeless vs. Solid Scooter Tires
A pneumatic tire contains pressurized air and generally gives the best ride quality and grip.
A tubed tire uses a separate inner tube. Split rims are common on some performance scooters because they make removing and installing the tire easier.
A tubeless tire seals directly against the wheel. Many modern Segway, NIU, Apollo and performance scooters use tubeless designs, sometimes with self-sealing gel.
A solid or honeycomb tire cannot go flat because it contains no air. The tradeoff is usually a firmer ride and less shock absorption.
There isn't one construction that is universally best. The important part is using a tire designed for your wheel.
Can I Install a Wider Tire on My Electric Scooter?
Sometimes, but don't assume that a wider tire will fit simply because the rim diameter matches.
For example, moving from a 60 mm tire to an 80 or 90 mm tire can create clearance problems with the fender, swingarm, fork, brake rotor or motor wiring.
A taller tire also changes the effective wheel diameter, which can slightly alter acceleration, indicated speed, ground clearance and overall gearing.
Performance scooters often have enough room for multiple tire profiles, while commuter scooters tend to have much tighter packaging.
Wider scooter tires can provide additional traction, but always check rim and chassis clearance before changing sizes.

Check the numbers molded into the sidewall of your existing tire first. Then confirm the scooter make, model and generation. Searching by model alone can sometimes be misleading because manufacturers change wheels between model years.
Are all 10-inch electric scooter tires the same?
No. “10-inch” usually refers to approximate outside diameter. Different 10-inch tires may use different widths, rim diameters, bead designs and tubed or tubeless constructions.

Can I replace a pneumatic scooter tire with a solid tire?
Sometimes. The solid tire must specifically fit the wheel and scooter model. Installing a solid tire can also make the ride firmer because there is no pressurized air to absorb bumps.
Why does my scooter say 10-inch but the tire measures less than 10 inches?
Scooter tire sizes are nominal. Actual dimensions can vary depending on tire manufacturer, tread design, inflation pressure and rim width.
