First Time Buyers

What should I look for in an E-Bike when buying?

First Time Buying an E-Moto? Here's What to Look For!

When buying an E-Bike the key factors to consider are speed, range, safety, and warranty.

Radmoto has bikes with a variety of capabilities and will have the perfect bike for you whether you’re looking for top speed thrills, top-tier safety features, or long range adventures.

Are E-Motos street legal?

Not all E-Motos are street legal in the U.S.

Whether or not a bike is street legal depends on speed, power, and features like lights, mirrors, and turn signals.

Local laws and ability to register for the road also factor into what E-Motos are considered street legal.

Does my ride come with a warranty?

All bikes from Radmoto come with the manufacturer’s warranty as per the bike retailer’s policy.

Radmoto does not offer additional warranty on bikes or parts.

We honor the manufacturer’s warranty and will work with them to help ensure a speedy solution.

How do I charge my E-Bike?

Always use the manufacturer-approved charger to avoid battery damage.

You charge your E-Bike by plugging the battery into a standard wall outlet using the included charger.

Most bikes include a charger compatible with standard U.S. outlets.

Charging time varies depending on battery size and model.

Always follow manufacturer charging guidelines.

What are the different PEV (Personal Electric Vehicles) categories?

Personal Electric Vehicles (PEVs) include e-bikes, e-motos, e-scooters, e-mini motos, e-mopeds, and e-motorcycles.

E-Scooters - Lightweight, two-wheel stand-up scooters designed for urban commuting. Typically compact, with speeds ranging from 10-30 mph.

E-Bikes – Pedal-assisted or throttle-powered bikes that generally fall into three classes, reaching speeds of 20-30 mph. These are often street-legal and vary by state regulations.

E-Mopeds – Hybrid-style vehicles with pedals, similar to mopeds but fully electric. They typically reach 30-45 mph and include models like ONYX and Super73.

E-Mini Motos – Small electric dirt bikes and pit bikes with 12” or 14” wheels, such as Razor dirt bikes and similar models. Great for off-road fun.

E-Motos – High-performance electric motorcycles like Sur-Ron, Talaria, and E Ride Pro. These offer serious power and speed for off-road or light street use, depending on local regulations.

E-Motorcycles – Full-sized, highway-capable electric motorcycles, such as Zero Motorcycles, that exceed 50 mph and are built for serious riders.

Not sure which PEV is right for you? Radmoto can help you find the perfect ride for your needs!

How often does my E-Bike need maintenance?

Your e-bike is meant to operate in all kinds of weather conditions and is basically maintenance-free.

If we haven’t checked your e-bike in 3 months of riding season, we recommend you give us a call and we’ll look it over in person or over a video call

Normal wear items such as tires and brakes will need replacement at the end of their service life, which will vary depending on the type of riding you do and the severity of use. If any service needs develop, you will be notified as to the need and extent.

How long do E-Moto batteries last?

Most lithium-ion batteries last 3-7 years or 800 charging cycles (completely full to empty is one cycle) before noticeable degradation. They will slowly degrade performance. They quick degrade if you charge when they are cold, leave them empty, or leave them plugged in charging for too long.

How do E-Motos compare to gas motorcycles?

E-Motos offer quieter operation, lower maintenance, and instant torque.

  • Lower operating costs over time.
  • No oil changes or fuel costs required.
  • E-Motos may have a shorter range and longer refueling (charging) times

What do I do if my E-Moto starts malfunctioning?

Step 1: Troubleshoot the issue. If your E-Moto starts malfunctioning, you should consult the owners manual or the Radmotousa YouTube Channel for solutions.

Radmotousa YouTube Channel- for quick DIY fixes!

  • Checking the battery, inspecting wiring & connections, restarting the system, testing the throttle and controller, and examining the motor are all good starting points.
  • If you are unable to solve the problem on your own, we recommend professional repair at the Radmoto HQ.

How fast can an E-Moto go?

Top speeds vary depending on the model.

  • Most e-scooters can get up to 20 mph
  • Most e-bikes have three classes and top out at 28 mph
  • Some entry-level e-motos can reach 50-60 mph
  • High-performance e-motos exceed 100 mph

What if I don't have a garage?

If you don’t have a garage make sure you keep the battery away from extreme cold (<32°F) or extreme heat (>104 °F)

  • Cover your electric vehicle or park it away from direct sunlight
  • Use the provided brake lock to protect against theft
